First ACM Chapter Meeting

The First ACM Chapter Meeting served as the official kick-off for the HITMS ACM Student Chapter’s semester activities. Designed for both new and returning members, the meeting introduced the chapter’s objectives, governance structure, upcoming programs, and opportunities for involvement.

• Provide a clear roadmap for the semester's events, study groups, and projects.
• Facilitate volunteer sign-ups for committees such as events, projects, outreach, and education.
• Showcase preliminary AI/ML project ideas and invite collaborators.

Meeting structure

• Welcome and introductions, followed by a chapter overview.
• Short presentations of proposed projects and study groups.
• Open discussion, Q&A, and sign-ups for specific roles and initiatives.

How to prepare

Attendees were encouraged to bring ideas, a laptop (if available), and any short demo materials. Those wishing to present were advised to contact organizers ahead of time to reserve demo slots.
